Another semester, come and gone. Thanks for a great semester everyone! Congratulations to everyone who tested at the rank promotion test last weekend, and enjoy your summer break!
I will be here during the summer - so if you are around, let me know, and we can get some training in.

This is just an update as to how things are going to run for the rest of the
semester.
1. Wednesday 11/28/07 - If you still haven't gotten me your test application and
money, I need it no later than this date. We will be working on fixing last
minute kinks for the test. Additionally, this is the time to ask me questions
with regards to Q&A. As I've said before, the test will be in the Dance
Room in War Memorial Gym. This means you guys will be performing (and
sparring) on hardwood floor. We will do some practicing out in the hall to get
you semi-used to this.
2. Saturday 12/01/07 - Rank Promotion Test. We have the 'Dance' room from
1pm-5pm. I would suggest showing up at 12:30-12:45 to stretch out and warm up.
The judges for the test are: Master Folta (7 Dan), Dunn Sensei (7 Dan) and Bleecker Sensei (3 Dan). I will
not be judging. After the test, we will do a short workout which will be led
by Dunn Sensei and Folta Sensei. Thereafter we will all get dinner at Boston
Beanery and from there everyone can head home. Also, feel free to invite
friends/family to the test. You guys trained all semester for this and it
takes a good deal of effort and proficiency. Those not testing are encouraged
to come and support people by showing up for the test. Please let me know by
email if you intend to come.
3. Sunday 12/02/07 - Rank Promotion Test (Northern VA). 10 people testing for
Dan ranking. The test starts at 12pm at Cub Run RECenter. 4630 Stonecroft
Blvd. Chantilly, VA, 20151. Again, if you're interested, Email Ben or myself
and we will arrange a carpool.
4. Wednesday 12/05/07 - This is the last class of the semester. We will talk a
little bit about the test, spend some time doing 3 man bunkai and probably play
some wallball or something equally fun.
5. Next semester - I will be down here at Tech for the first few classes.
Thereafter I'll be gone for at least 6 weeks, and then who knows. Ben will be
running the classes. Additionally, there is a possible conflict with his
schedule for Wednesday nights. We are working out the details, but karate
might be on Thursday next semester. We'll deal with it as best we can. He or
I will keep you updated.
July 9th, 2007
-First day of class: August 22nd, 6:30pm, Multi-B
-We will do either a tournament, seminar, or demonstration this semester.
-The Rank Promotion test is scheduled for December 1st, 1pm-5pm, in the Dance Room of War Memorial Gym.
-Invitations will be handed out on Wednesday, November 7th.
-Due to the cancelation of the RPT last semester, individuals who had received invitations to test will be
assessed as if they had successfully passed the RPT.
-New Rank Requirements Posted!!
-I would greatly appreciate it if people would give me feedback from last semester.
Below are the two major changes I intend to make for the coming semester:
A set self defense curriculum.
Kotegitae to proceed Sanchin for every class (for all but first semester students).
